Sewing and quilting enthusiasts always look forward to fall, as thoughts of the latest fabric collections and new patterns replace thoughts of our summer vacations, whether hectic or relaxing. Maybe that’s why the Home Sewing Association has declared September as National Sewing Month.
We all sew and quilt for many different reasons. It’s the ultimate creative outlet, it’s practical, stress-relieving, educational, and it’s fun! As the kids return to school, think about how to share your love for sewing, whether in the classroom, scouting programs or after-school programs. September is also when many quilt guilds reconvene after summer recess, and we welcome all of you back as well.
