Fabric and Quarterly Quilt Series by Pam Buda
Pam's newest line, A PRAIRIE GATHERING, features rich reds with golden tan coordinates, a favorite color combination among quilters, and made even better by her gorgeous medallion quilt design.
This time, she takes her inspiration from the Prairie women that gathered to give voice to their social concerns by way of quilting. The activity of quilting unified the women under such causes as abolition, education, politics and more, with their quilts often used as fundraising items.
As an alternative to the regular BOM format, Pam has designed the 12-month program as a Quarterly Quilt Series
- Patterns are divided into (4) quarters -- each quarter has (3) monthly chapters.
- Quilt borders are constructed "as-you-go" through the quarters and chapters. Construction of the quilt is ongoing, with new borders added periodically to the medallion rounds, giving you a great sense of fulfillment and accomplishment month-by-month. There is no "finishing kit" or big piecing job assembling the entire quilt at the end.
- Pam's instructions incorporate modern rotary cutting and piecing techniques -- no special rulers or notions are required.
The program begins in January 2015
