Need "Pink Ribbon" projects for October, or any time of the year? When Faye Burgos designed the CLOSE TO MY HEART collection, she included two very unique panel layouts, each with countless possibilities for creative cutting, appliqué and more. As a bonus, the collection includes brown, soft blue and light olive in addition to the pink for added versatility - these same ideas can even be used for birthdays, Mother's Day and other special occasions in addition to breast cancer awareness projects. We've come up with a few fundraiser projects perfect for guilds, groups and even individuals to stitch up:
- The 5" block panel lends itself to quick potpourri sachets. Try them plain, or trimmed with lace, ribbons and buttons. Cut out the square blocks, or the heart shapes, or try a few of each.
- Cut the same panel into 3-by-3 blocks (resulting in a 15" block) for pretty post-surgery underarm pillows.
- The larger panel features a mix of colors and sizes that can quickly become cushions, pocket appliqués, lace-trimmed hankies, table toppers and more.
