In Overdyeing 101, feature, we showed easy techniques for custom-coloring your favorite Marcus black and white prints. Now, we present a new dimension in overdyeing with some help from the ELEMENTS collection by Faye Burgos.

We used liquid fabric dye, and the white tone-on-tones from this pigment dyed collection, where the dye is applied to the surface of the fabric rather than wet-printed, where dyes completely saturate the fabric.

As with our original overdyed black and white samples, the intensity of color depends on the amount of time the fabric is immersed in the dye, as well as the strength of the dye bath. Experiment with dyeing times to produce a gorgeous range of tonals in your favorite color.
