CONSTRUCTION
Following
the sketch, sew the 3½ x 14 strips together to form two panels.
Press seams toward the center.
- Pin panels right sides together. Lay out pattern so
that the grain line of the pattern lines up with one of the seam
lines. Cut out pattern.
- Sew each side of the short ruffle to one side of the
long ruffles. Sew the ends together.
- With wrong sides together, fold ruffle in half
lengthwise. Press and pin raw edges together.
- Gather ruffle by machine basting ½ and Ό from
the raw edges.
- Right sides together, pin ruffle to one heart
section. Pin so that fabric #1 is at the top of the inside curve of
the heart. Adjust gathers to fit. Baste ruffle to heart with a ½
seam allowance.
- Pin remaining heart section, right sides together and
stitch around following the previous basting stitch. Leave an opening
large enough for turning and stuffing.
- Turn right side out and stuff.
