PURSE: (Pattern will depend on chosen frame)
Cut 2 purse pieces from aqua wool. With right sides together, sew
sides and bottom using ¼” seam. Turn right sides out. Hand
stitch purse to frame using a single strand of the buttonhole
thread. Begin at one end doing a running stitch. When you get to
the last hole, turn around and go back through the alternating
holes. Repeat on other side.
FLOWERS: (Make any number or arrangement
of the flowers to suit your needs.)
Flower Buds:
Cut a 6” length of wire. Bend ¼” back at one end and
place inside folded bud pattern. Fold half circle bud pattern into
thirds, gather and stitch edges. Wrap wire with white floral tape.
Make at least 2.
Spiral Tendrils:
For each tendril cut a 3/8” x 12” strip of aqua and one of
cream.
Cut a 16” piece of wire. Layer a piece of wool, the
steam-a-seam, the wire and the other piece of wool. Let the extra
wire extend from one end. Fuse the layers together. WATCH YOUR
FINGERS! Cover exposed with wire floral tape. Wrap wool/wire
sandwich around a knitting needle or pencil to shape spiral. Trim
end to a nice neat point. Make at least 2.
Flowers:
Cut an assortment of the petal shapes from both the blue and
white wool. Using the photo as a guide, stack together different
shapes and colors. Insert folded stamens into center or stitch
beads at the flower centers.
Group flowers, buds and tendrils together.
Arrange and slipstitch to front of purse. |
