Fabric A 1 yd chrysanthemum black 1521-0712 (4) fussy cut 12-1/2" squares
Fabric B 1 yd chrysanthemum ivory 1521-0740 (4) 9" x width of fabric (wof) strips, recut (4) 9" squares
Fabric C 1/8 yd egrets black 1522-0712 (1) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2 x 4-12" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces
Fabric D 1/4 yd egrets blue 1522-0750 (2) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 10-1/2" pieces
Fabric E 1/8 yd feathers black 1523-0712 (1) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2 x 4-12" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces
Fabric F 1/3 yd feathers ivory 1523-0740 (4) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (6) 2-1/2" x 10-1/2" pieces and (6) 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" pieces
Fabric G 1/2 yd leaves black 1524-0712 (2) 6-7/8" x wof strips, recut (8) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (16) triangles
Fabric H 1/4 yd leaves ivory 1524-0712 (2) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" pieces
Fabric I 1/4 yd leaves blue 1524-0750 (2) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 10-1/2" pieces
Fabric J 3/4 yd blossoms red 1526-0711 (1) 4-1/2" x wof strip, recut (6) 4-1/2" squares (1) 6-7/8" x wof strips, recut (4) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (8) triangle (7) 2" x wof strips, sew together end-to-end, then cut (2) 70-1/2" vertical borders and (2) 73-1/2" horizontal borders
Fabric K 1/2 yd blossoms green 1526-0714 (1) 7-1/4" x wof strip, recut (2) 7-1/4" squares, then cut in half on diagonal twice for (8) triangles (6) 1-1/2" x wof strips, sew together end-to-end, then cut (2) 60-1/2" vertical borders and (2) 62-1/2" horizontal borders
Fabric L 1/2 yd peacocks black 1527-0712 (1) 12-1/2" x wof strips, recut (2) 12-1/2" squares
Fabric M 2 yd medallions black 1528-0712 (2) fussy cut appliqué circles for corner blocks (9) 6-1/2" x wof strips, sew together end-to-end, recut (2) 73-1/2" vertical borders and (2) 85-1/2" horizontal borders
Fabric N 1/2 yd koi black 1529-0712 (1) 12-1/2" x wof strip, recut (2) 12-1/2" squares
Fabric O 2 yd Strip-It black 1531-0712 (7) 4-1/2" x wof strips, sew together end-to-end, recut (4) 71-1/4" borders. Cut remainder of fabric stripes apart individually into 2-1/2" x length of fabric pieces. Recut the bird stripe into (4) 2-1/2" fussy cut birds and (4 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" pieces. From one of the floral print stripes cut (4) 2-1/2" x 4-12" pieces and (4) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces. From the 2 remaining floral strips cut (2) 2-1/2" squares and (2) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" pieces. Using the remaining leaf print stripes cut (10) 2-1/2" squares, (10) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" pieces and (10) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces. From the black stripes cut (20) 2-1/2" squares, (2) 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" strips and (10) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" strips.
Fabric P 1/4 yd sprigs ivory 1532-0740 (2) 2-1/2" x wof strips, recut (3) 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" pieces and (3) 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" pieces
Fabric Q 1/4 yd spider mums black 1601-0162 (1) 6-7/8" x wof strip, recut (2) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (4) triangles
Fabric R 1/4 yd calligraphy black 1604-0162 (1) 6-7/8" x wof strip, recut (2) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (4) triangles
Fabric S 1/4 yd butterflies black 1605-0162 (1) 6-7/8" x wof strip, recut (2) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (4) triangles
Fabric T 1/4 yd dragonflies black 1606-0162 (1) 6-7/8" x wof strip, recut (2) 6-7/8" squares, then cut in half on diagonal once for (4) triangles
Fabric U 3/4 yd koi black 1607-0162 (10) 2-1/4" x wof strips, sew together end-to-end for binding
Backing: 5-3/4 yd fabric A. Cut 2 pieces 90" long and sew together selvedge to selvedge, Cut remaining fabric into (5) equal pieces from top to bottom, sew into a long strip and sew to one side along selvedge.
Note: In cutting "wof" indicates width of fabric.

Sewing
  1. Log Cabin Corner blocks- Using pieces cut from stripes in fabric O, sew 5 blocks.
  1. Log Cabin blocks- Sew 3 blocks in each color combination for a total of 6 blocks.
  1. Sew 4 matching black triangles in fabrics Q through T to each side of a fabric B square. Make 4 blocks.
  1. Appliqué a fabric M medallion to the center of the two black squares G. Sew a fabric K triangle to each side of the black center square. Sew a fabric J triangle to each side of the green triangles to complete the block. Make 2.
  2. Sew the quilt together in 5 rows of 5 blocks each. Refer to the color photo for placement of blocks in each row. Sew rows together.
  3. Sew a fabric K vertical border to opposite sides of the quilt top and fabric K horizontal borders to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
  4. Center and sew the fabric O borders to each side of the quilt with an equal amount of border fabric overlapping at each end. Miter the corners and trim away excess fabric.
  5. Sew a fabric J vertical border to opposite sides of the quilt top and fabric J horizontal borders to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
  6. Sew a fabric M vertical border to opposite sides of the quilt top and fabric M horizontal borders to the top and bottom of the quilt top.

Finishing
  1. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Baste, then quilt the layers together.
  2. Fold the fabric U binding strips over lengthwise and press the fold line. Sew raw edge of binding to raw edge of quilt top and sew in place. Turn folded edge to back and sew in place.
