From fabric with motif blocks:
(2) 5 1/2” x 34 1/2“ crosswise strips
(2) 5 1/2”x 54 1/2” lengthwise strips

Block Assembly:
To make a 10” block:
  1. Stitch a 5”x 1 1/2” blue stripe rectangle to alternate sides of the main block.
  2. Sew a pink floral square to each end of 2 5”x1 1/2” blue stripe rectangles.
  3. Sew this strip to the remaining sides of the main square (Diagram 1).
  1. Add a yellow with blue squares fabric rectangle to alternating sides of the block created.
  2. Stitch a blue striped square to each side of 2 yellow with blue square fabric rectangles.
  3. Stitch these strips to the main block along the remaining sides (Diagram 2).

  1. Sew a pink floral triangle to one edge of the block with a partial seam, beginning about 2” down from the top of the triangle (Diagram 3).
  2. Sew a second pink floral to the combined edge in a completed seam (Diagram 3).
  3. Add pink floral triangles to the remaining 2 sides moving around the block.
  4. Go back to the first triangle sewn, and complete the seam.
  5. Make 6 blocks in this color combination.
  6. Make 6 additional blocks by substituting the yellow star print for the yellow with blue square print and alternating the positions of the pink floral and the blue stripes.
Quilt Assembly:
  1. Assemble the blocks in 4 rows of three blocks each, alternating the two block color ways (Diagram 4).
  2. Sew the 2 1/2” x 30 1/2” strips of the white star fabric to the top and bottom of the quilt.
  3. Sew the remaining star border strips to the quilt sides.
  4. Complete the outer border in the same manner.
  5. Stitch the backing pieces together along the 25” edges.
  6. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt as desired.
  7. Join the 2 1/2” diagonal strips of binding fabric to make 5 3/4 yards of bias binding.
  8. Bind quilt edges.
