April 2008 — A leisurely evening stroll in the garden turns up rich, deep aubergine blooms, enhanced with with touches of sage, olive, beige, rose and warm burgundy. To accompany the beautiful flowers of Aubergine Garden, Faye Burgos incorporates some of her favorite design elements, like the gorgeous toile in an unexpected aubergine, as well as olive. Lush paisleys include a multi-colored version on a cream ground, plus monotones. She then mixes two very distinct, stylized stripe designs, plus texture prints and smaller scale flowers for added versatility.
Faye's use of rich aubergine gives the collection a contemporary feel, at a time when various shades of the color are emerging as popular home décor accents. It works beautifully with the warm, traditional olive, rose and ivory for an overall effect that is fresh, yet classic and seasonless.
